Every profession presents a set of dangers and risks. The degree of the dangers and risks vary depending on the type of work one does and where the work is done. Jobs that take place on the water are often more dangerous than those that take place in an office setting. When someone working on a boat is injured on the job, he or she may be entitled to compensation.
A cruise ship worker was recently injured while the ship on which he worked was docked in Nawiliwili Harbor on one of the Hawaiian Islands. The 27-year-old man was spotted floating in the water face down. Upon the discovery, near Duke's Canoe Club, he was pulled from the water and CPR was performed. Fortunately, medics were able to revive him. He was then transported to Wilcox Hospital.
Though the extent of his injuries is unknown, the hospital listed him as being in critical condition.
It is currently not clear how the man ended up in the water. It is possible that he slipped and fell overboard on a slippery deck. Perhaps he tripped on an uneven surface. These are both common causes of injuries on cruise ships. While the cause of the incident is unclear, what is clear is if employer negligence is to blame for his injuries, he may be able to recover financial compensation from the cruise ship line.
When someone is injured on a cruise it is important to consult an attorney as quickly as possible. This is because there is a short window of opportunity in which to file a lawsuit.
